RADON TESTING SERVICE

Professional Radon Testing in Missoula & the Bitterroot Valley

With our state’s unique geology, the average indoor radon level in Missoula County is well above the EPA’s action level. Because you can’t see, smell, or taste radon, professional radon testing is the only way to truly know if levels are high. At Murphy Radon, we provide high-precision, NRPP-certified radon testing for families and businesses throughout Missoula and the surrounding areas.

How Does Professional Radon Testing With Murphy Radon Work?

We’ve refined our testing process to be as transparent and unobtrusive as possible, ensuring you get accurate results without the stress.

  • Simple Scheduling: Whether you’re a concerned homeowner or a realtor, it starts with a quick call or email.
  • Strategic Monitor Placement: One of our certified experts will place a Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) in the lowest level of your home.
  • The 48-Hour Testing Period: Per AARST and NRPP standards, the monitor must collect data for 48 hours.
  • Expert Data Analysis & Report: You will receive a detailed, easy-to-read report that breaks everything down.

We are committed to integrity and transparency. If your test results come back at or above the 4.0 pCi/L action level, we provide a clear, no-nonsense path forward. If your professional test indicates that a radon mitigation system is needed, we apply a $100 credit from your testing fee directly toward the cost of your Murphy Radon mitigation system.

OUR APPROACH

How Long Does Radon Testing Take?

The short answer is that a professional radon test takes approximately 48 hours to record the necessary data. However, the total process involves a few specific steps to ensure your results are accurate and “defensible.”

The 12-Hour “Prep” Phase

To get an accurate reading, the EPA requires “closed-house conditions” for at least 12 hours before we place the monitor.

The 48-Hour Professional Test

Once we set our Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM), it must remain undisturbed for a minimum of 48 hours.

Quick Results

Because we use professional digital monitors, we can download the data and provide you with a comprehensive report quickly.

Sean was great. He came out on time, did a thorough evaluation, performed the Radon test and got the result back to me right away. I appreciate his thorough approach and his honest evaluation of our situation. It turned out our Radon levels were acceptable, so no mitigation was necessary. I will be calling him again if I need a Radon test or mitigation estimate!
